Introduction to our Online Training Format

Rothman Livestock Training Services (RLTS) currently offers training in the form of 19 short courses as well as 4 Academy Modules affecting key skills development in the Cattle, Sheep & Goat, Pig, Poultry, Agronomy, Pasture, Grazing, Feed Production and Hydroculture industries. We are glad to announce that we have launched our Online Training Format.

Our Online Training Format offers 3 formats for training to select from. The courses indicated below will be phased in throughout the course of the year, with the first group of courses coming online during May 2025.

We are also running Pre-Launch and Easter period specials. Bookings for Online Training are not provided on our website, please make contact with our booking office at Admin@RLTSafrica.com to get full details for the Online Training Format.

1. Online Short Courses – No Practical Component Required.

You can select from 11 short courses that do not require any practical attendance at any practical sessions.

There are no Pre-Entry requirements for attendance, and anyone can receive the below mentioned Online Training Short Courses.

  1. Cattle Calf Rearing – Online Only
  2. Cattle Nutrition – Online Only
  3. Cattle Stockman’s (Animal Husbandry) – Online Only
  4. Cattle Beef Farming Management & Production – Online Only
  5. Cattle Dairy Farming Management & Production – Online Only
  6. Sheep & Goats Stockman’s (Animal Husbandry) – Online Only
  7. Sheep & Goats Farming Management & Production – Online Only
  8. Pigs Farming Management & Production – Online Only
  9. Poultry Farming Management, Production & Reproduction – Online Only
  10. Pasture, Grazing, Agronomy & Feed Production – Online Only
  11. Hydroponics Food Production for Human Consumption – Online Only

2. Online Short Courses – With a Practical Component that is required.

You can select from 15 short courses that require practical attendance, at your convenience, within a 12-month period from receiving and commencing Online Theoretical Instruction offered at a number of venues throughout South Africa as per our schedule and application forms.

Please note that practical re-attendance to gain more practical experience is allowed for up to 12 months after completion of your first practical sessions, at no charge on 2 sperate occasions.

  11. Sheep & Goats Farming Management & Production.
  12. Pig Reproduction & Artificial Insemination.
  13. Pasture, Grazing, Agronomy & Feed Production

  15. Animal Health Technician Reproduction Practical Training Week.

3. Online Full Training Week – Practical Components for Multiple Short Courses covered during a full week made up of 4 – 6 days practical training.

Practical weeks are made up of various short courses pooled together which may contain anything from 3 to 9 courses completed during the week. This would cover Cattle, Sheep & Goats and Pigs. Attending the full week will offer you a 10 – 50% discount over the individual short courses charging rate.
